There are many ways to fill your days. A day 'at home' by the pool winding down or out and about exploring what Haute Vienne and the other parts of the Limousin, Creuse and Correze have to offer. There are many places to visit and pretty villages in the area.

Apart from beautiful countryside and picturesque villages the Limousin offers a plethera of outdoor activities and interesting places to visit. Luckily, no matter how far you stray from home in search of activities and entertainment, good food is always readily available. There is an interesting choice of eating places in the region, from top class gourmet restaurants to small family run hotels, local village auberges and even take-away fast food outlets.


Pamper Yourself!

Feel great! Why not try sports massage? This is available by appointment from a qualified therapist and can reduce heart rate, blood pressure and muscle tension, improve flexibility and relieve pain. A session lasts 45 minutes.

Follow this with a sauna.  This is situated close to the swimming pool and can be hired by the hour.

Complete the experience by indulging in some beauty treatments and/or having your hair done.

Swimming, Sailing and Other Water Sports

Visit one of the lakes in the area like Lac de Vassiviere for watersports. You can hire a canoe, dinghy, windsurfer or other craft.
River canoeing on the Vezere near Uzerche is also available.


Places of Interest

In June 1944, the population of Oradour sur Glane was massacred by German troops. The village is now a memorial and remains as it was left in 1944.

To the south, the French National Stud Pompadour opens its doors to the public with a variety of events throughout the year.
The Chateau in Pompadour, on the Route de Richard, Coeur du Lion has guided visits.


Fishing and Other Activities

Fishing, in Limousin is good. Carp and Cat fishing  can be found close by in Massaret. Mountain biking routes are plentiful and horse riding, golf, tennis, paragliding and even hot air ballooning are all just a short drive away.

An exciting day out for the children is a visit to the aerial walkways near Lac de Vassiviere or Parc Bellevue near Limoges. You can even go back in time and take a sightseeing trip by steam train. Or follow some of the many walking routes in the region. Free pamphlets are available from Tourist Offices.

Art courses in a variety of media can be arranged to suit your needs. Courses are delvered by a qualified artist and can be organised around your holiday plans. All equipment can be provided and the cost of each course will be determined by the length of the course and the materials used. Animal Parks and Aquarium

For wildlife Les Loupes de Chabrières near Gueret and the Parc du Reynou , an Open Wildlife park, are worth a visit.
Limoges also has an Aquarium.
