The Limousin is a very picturesque part of France offering many sightseeing opportunities. Check out our gallery. Ancient castles, pretty stone built houses, impressive medieval towns and a wealth of historic sites and museums are on the doorstep.
Although our 3 bedroom cottage/gite in Limousin offers an ideal setting for relaxing, it is also the perfect place for those who prefer to be a bit more active on holiday. Golf, cycling, fishing, horse riding, canoeing, walking, swimming and sailing are only some of the activities available close by. You can even borrow our bikes - a great way to work up an appetite!
Excellent food and wine are offered throughout Haute Vienne. Eating out is relatively inexpensive but there are also several gourmet retaurants in the area, pricier but well worth a visit. The closest restaurant/'take-away' is only 5kms from the gite.
Alternatively eat 'al fresco' in the summer sunshine on the terrace or by the pool; or pack a picnic and head out for the day to one of the many rivers and lakes in the Limousin. Wherever you eat, food here seems to taste better!
Driving in France is relatively stress free and our 3 bedroom cottage in Limousin is just a day's drive from the ferryports. If you prefer a faster journey, Bellegarde Airport just outside Limoges is a Ryanair and Flybe destination from the UK so flights are reasonably priced.
All things considered, there is really no excuse for not spending some lazy days here in the Limousin.
